ENTERING THE SETUP MODE
a Press and hold the SET key for 4 seconds.
Step 1: Day and time setup
a The display asks you if you want to set the clock.
Press Yes if you want to set the clock, press No to go
step Z ‘SETUP FOR TV’
b The display asks you to set the the day. Use Up/
Down to adjust the setting. Press Yes to continue.
e The display asks you to set the time. Use Up/ Down
to adjust the setting. Press Yes to continue.
Step 2: Setup for TV
Manual TV code entry
a Press Yes to setup the RC 8510 for your TV, press No
to skip the setup for TV. Now proceed with step 3.
‘VCR MODE SETUP’.
b Turn on the TV for code testing. This display stays on
for 2 seconds.
c Press Yes to enter a code from the brand code list in
this manual, Press No to search for your device code
and proceed with step 2g: ‘TV CODE SEARCH’.
d Enter the 4 digit device code by means of the
numerical keys (0-9).
Note: You can only enter a TV code. TV brand codes
can be found in the Brand code list, page.40
e Press the Standby key to test if the code is correct.
Your TV should go Standby.
Note: It is possible to test another key than the
Standby key. For example, to test if the code you
entered can control teletext, press the Teletext key
instead of the Standby key. You can only press one
single key to test.
f |f the code you entered is correct, press Yes. Now
proceed with step 3.
If the code is not working, press No, you will return to
step 2c.
TV code search
g Press Yes to search for a TV code, press No to return
tostep 2c.
h Make sure the TV is ON and press the Standby key.
The code number changes and the RC will transmit a
Standby signal to test if the code is correct. The
display shows a 4 digit code number.
If the code is correct, the device (for example TV)
should go Standby.
i Release the Standby-key. If the TV reacts, press other
keys to test the correctness of the code. If the code is
correct, press SET. Now proceed with step 2j. If the
code is not working, go to step 2h.
Note: You can test other keys than the Standby key
to verify that the code is correct. For example, you
can test if the code you entered can control teletext
by pressing the Teletext key.
You can press all keys to test except the Standby,
Mute, Set and SHIFT-keys.
The Mute-key decreases the code number by 10. You
can use this key to test a previous code.
The display indicates that the TV code is stored. Now
proceed with step 3 VCR MODE SETUP.
