COMPENSATION BLOCK
The Compensation Block is a accessory specically designed for the 41-761 Isolated Millivolt Thermocouple
Simulator Module. This block will give the user the temperature of the front panel junction of the module to cabling.
This data can then be combined with other factors, temperature on the other end of the cable for example, to
compensate the thermocouple hence increase the accuracy.
This compensation block is designed with four high precision (max +/-0.5ºC) and resolution (up to +0.0625ºC)
temperature sensors laid out in four sections, with minimum conductance between sections, aims to give the user
the temperature on different channels in different sections.
Figure 8.1 shows the pin allocations for the Compensation Block and Figures 8.2 and 8.3 show the Soft Front Panel
for the Thermocouple Simulator with and without the Compensation Block attached to the module. Table 8.1 shows
the relationship between the compensation temperatures on the Soft Front Panel and the Thermocouple Simulator
channnel numbers.
