3-4.2b Manual Pump Shift Override Operation - Ford Engine With Ford 6R140 Transmission
Manual Pump Shift Override (optional)
1. Position one person in the driver’s seat and one person at the pump panel.
2. Shift transmission Into NEUTRAL (N).
3. Apply parking brake.
4. Place pump shift control in NEUTRAL.
Move the pump shift control lever located in the cab to the middle or NEUTRAL position.
NOTE: Depending on pump model, pull in or push out the manual shift T-handle, using steady pressure.
Read the instruction plate near the manual T-handle for operation method.
5. Engage the manual shift handle.
6. Place pump shift control in PUMP position.
Move the pump shift control lever down into pump mode.
7. Apply service brake by pressing and holding the brake pedal.
8. Shift the transmission into DRIVE (D).
NOTE: Remove foot from brake pedal immediately after D4 displays on the shift pad. If brake is not
released, the transmission will drop out of fourth gear lock-up.
If any pedal is depressed while in fourth gear lock-up, transmission will drop out of gear.
9. Remove foot from service brake as soon as “D4” appears on the shift pad display.
