This document describes the Pifco 3L Digital Compact Air Cooler, model P65002, an evaporative air cooler designed for domestic use. It functions as a 3-in-1 device, offering cooling, humidifying, and fan capabilities.
Function Description:
The Pifco 3L Digital Compact Air Cooler operates by drawing in air, passing it over a water-soaked filter, and then releasing cooler, humidified air. This evaporative cooling process helps to lower room temperature and refresh the air. The unit includes a humidifying function that can be activated to further enhance cooling and air quality. It also features a drying function to ensure the unit is fully dry after use or before storage, preventing mildew or odors. The fan offers three wind speeds (Low, Medium, High) and three cooling modes (Normal, Natural, Sleep) to suit various preferences and environmental conditions. An oscillation function allows the inner louvers to swing from side to side, distributing air more widely. A built-in digital timer enables users to set pre-set cooling cycles for 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Model: P65002
- Description: 3L Digital Compact Air Cooler
- Rated Voltage: 220-240V~
- Frequency: 50Hz
- Power Consumption: 45W
- Water Tank Capacity: 3 Liters
- Battery for Remote Control: 1 x CR2032 (positive polarity facing upwards)
Usage Features:
- Power On/Off: The unit is turned on by plugging it into the mains and then pressing the On/Off button on the remote control or control panel. A double sound prompt indicates power-up. Pressing the button again puts the unit into standby mode.
- Speed Selection: Three wind speeds (Low, Medium, High) are available. Users can cycle through these speeds using the speed selection button on the remote or control panel. The corresponding indicator lights up to show the selected speed.
- Mode Selection: Three cooling modes are offered:
- Normal Mode: The unit cools continuously at the desired speed.
- Natural Mode: The unit automatically cycles through different wind speeds to simulate a natural breeze.
- Sleep Mode: The unit runs on High speed for 30 minutes, then decreases to Medium for another 30 minutes, and finally to Low speed, continuing until turned off or the pre-set cooling cycle ends.
- Humidifying Function: Activated by pressing the 'Humidifying' button on the remote or control panel. An indicator lights up when active. The water tank must be filled for this function to operate correctly.
- Drying Function: Activated by long-pressing the 'Speed' button. The unit operates in Drying mode for 20 minutes, then automatically stops. During this mode, all other functions and buttons (except On/Off) are inactive.
- Water Tank Filling: The water tank is located at the back of the unit. It should be filled carefully, ensuring the water level is between the MIN and MAX lines, visible through the water window at the front. A safety locking mechanism secures the tank in place (turn knob clockwise 90 degrees to lock, counter-clockwise to release).
- Ice Pack Usage: An included ice pack can be frozen and placed into the filled water tank for enhanced cooling. The ice pack should never be opened or refilled, and its contents should not be swallowed.
- Oscillation Function: Activated by pressing the Oscillation button. The inner louvers will swing side-to-side, and an indicator will light up. Pressing the button again stops oscillation, locking the louvers at their current angle. The inner louvers cannot be manually adjusted; the oscillation function must be used to set the desired cooling angle.
- Air Flow Control: The outer louvers at the front of the unit can be manually adjusted by gently pushing them upwards or downwards to direct the air flow.
- Timer Function: The digital timer allows for pre-set cooling cycles of 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours. Pressing the 'Timer' button activates the function, and repeated presses cycle through the available times. The '1H' indicator lights up first, then subsequent indicators. The timer operates in ascending order; to decrease the time, cycle past '8h' until all indicators are off, then press again to select a shorter time.
- Remote Control: The unit comes with a remote control for convenient operation. It requires one CR2032 battery.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning the Unit: Always switch off and unplug the appliance before cleaning. The exterior can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and white soap, then polished with a dry cloth. Abrasive cleaning materials should not be used. Water or steam should not enter any part of the appliance, especially the motor housing or inner components, to prevent damage.
- Cleaning the Filter: The unit has a removable filter for easy cleaning. Disconnect the unit from the mains, then pull the filter mesh out from its slot at the back. Soak the filter in mild detergent for a few minutes, rinse under cold water, and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth or towel before re-inserting.
- Cleaning the Water Tank: Remove the water tank from the unit. Clean it with a damp towel and mild detergent to remove limescale, then wash with clean water and allow it to dry thoroughly before re-fitting.
- Water Drainage: The unit includes a drain plug to remove old or unused water. Remove the drain cap, drain the water, and then securely re-install the cap. It is recommended to drain excess or unused water approximately every 3 days.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the fan in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging, out of reach of children.
- Automatic Shut-off: To prevent dry running, the water pump will automatically stop working after 10 hours of continuous operation if the water tank is empty.
