  If the Pit Boss smoker takes too long to reach the desired temperature, it could be due to several reasons: * The outside temperature might be too cold (below 65°C / 18°F). * Using an extension cord can reduce power; plug directly into the power source or use a short, heavy-duty cord (max 7.6 meters / 25 feet, minimum gauge 12/3). * Too much food in the cabinet restricts airflow; leave space between items. * The door might not be closed properly, or the seal is damaged. * The water pan might not be correctly placed on its support brackets. In rare cases, it could be a faulty control board that needs replacement.

  If no smoke is being produced by your Pit Boss smoker, start by adding wood chips to the wood chip tray. If that doesn't work, the heating element might not be staying on long enough to heat the wood chips because the temperature is set too low; open the rear vents completely to promote airflow, then reset the temperature higher to turn on the element for 20 minutes. If problems persist, the wood chip tray may be damaged and require replacement.

  If you see the "ErH" error code on your Pit Boss smoker, it means the smoker has overheated, exceeding 315°C / 600°F. To resolve this, turn off the unit by pressing and holding the Power Button and allow the smoker to cool down. After it cools, perform the recommended maintenance. Then, press the Power Button again to turn it back on and select your desired temperature. If the error code continues to appear, further assistance is needed.
