Why is my Pit Boss Grill LED screen not lighting up?
    • F
      franklinkaylaAug 17, 2025
The LED screen might not light up due to several reasons. First, ensure your grill is properly plugged into a working power source and all wire connections are firmly connected. Another potential cause is a blown fuse on the circuit board, which would need manual replacement. Also, check if the GFCI outlet has been tripped, and ensure it's a minimum 10 Amp service. Finally, make sure the temperature control dial is turned to SMOKE to initiate the unit's start-up.

Why won't the fire light in the burn pot of my Pit Boss Grill?
    • J
      Janet LunaAug 20, 2025
If the fire isn't lighting in the burn pot, it could be due to a few reasons. The auger might not be primed, which is necessary before the first use or after the hopper has been completely emptied. Follow the Hopper Priming Procedure. Another cause could be a jammed auger motor; inspect the auger feed system and motor rotation. If the motor is not working, contact Customer Service for a replacement part. Lastly, the igniter might have failed, requiring a replacement part from Customer Service. In the meantime, you can use the Manual Start-up Procedure.

How to resolve unstable temperature on Pit Boss Grill?
    • J
      Jacob ByrdAug 22, 2025
If your grill won't achieve or maintain a stable temperature, several factors could be at play. The "P" setting may be too high; lowering it will decrease large temperature fluctuations. Insufficient airflow through the burn pot could also be the cause, so check for ash build-up or obstructions. Insufficient or poor fuel is another potential issue; check the hopper for sufficient fuel and any obstructions. Finally, the grill temperature probe may be dirty; inspect and clean it.

Why does my Pit Boss Grill produce excess or discolored smoke?
    • I
      ian96Aug 26, 2025
Excess or discolored smoke can be caused by grease build-up (follow Care and Maintenance instructions), poor wood pellet quality (remove moist pellets and replace with dry ones, cleaning out the hopper), or a blocked burn pot (clear the burn pot of moist wood pellets and follow the Hopper Priming Procedure).

    Nicole BarrettAug 27, 2025
Why is my Pit Boss PB1000T1 temperature too high on SMOKE setting?
    • D
      Dr. Michele BlairAug 28, 2025
If the grill temperature is too high on the SMOKE setting, the "P" setting might be too low. To adjust this, turn the temperature control dial to Smoke, push the Meat / P Button, and increase the "P" setting. Note that when selecting a Smoke setting after a temperature control dial preset (such as preheating at high heat), the auger will continuously turn and feed pellets for four minutes.

What to do if my Pit Boss Grill has frequent flare-ups?
    • M
      Mary DavidAug 31, 2025
Frequent flare-ups can occur if the cooking temperature is too high. Try cooking at a lower temperature, keeping it under 176°C / 350°F, especially when cooking highly greasy food, as grease has a flash point.
  • K
    Kimberly LuceroSep 2, 2025
What to do if my Pit Boss PB1000T1 temperature is flashing on the LCD screen?
    • A
      Ann WeissSep 2, 2025
A flashing temperature on the LCD screen indicates that the grill temperature is below 65°C / 150°F. This suggests a risk the fire could go out. Check the hopper for sufficient fuel and look for any obstructions in the feed system. You should also remove pellets and follow Care and Maintenance instructions. Inspect the grill temperature probe, burn pot, and fan, ensuring each is free from obstructions and functioning correctly. Finally, verify the auger motor's operation and check for blockages in the auger tube.

How to fix "ErH" error code on my Pit Boss Grill?
    • T
      Theresa MillerSep 5, 2025
The "ErH" error code indicates that the grill has overheated, possibly due to a grease fire or excess fuel. Turn the temperature control dial to OFF and allow the grill to cool. Then, follow the Care and Maintenance instructions. After maintenance, remove the pellets and confirm the positioning of all component parts. To clear the error, turn the temperature control dial to OFF, open the lid, wait 3 to 4 minutes, and then select the desired temperature.

Why does my Pit Boss Grill display an unexpected temperature when OFF?
    • B
      Benjamin HarperSep 8, 2025
An unexpected temperature display when the grill is off is usually because the grill is exposed to high ambient temperature and direct sun. This will not harm the grill. The internal temperature of the grill barrel has ambiently reached or exceeded 54°C / 130°F. Move the grill into a shaded area and prop the lid open to reduce the internal temperature.

How to fix "ErR" error code on Pit Boss Grill?
    • S
      Sarah HensleySep 12, 2025
The "ErR" error code indicates that the temperature probe wire is not making a connection. Remove the hopper access panel and check for any damage to the wire. Ensure the probe wire connections are firmly connected and correctly attached to the digital control board.
