- Do not store or use gasoline or other ammable vapors and Iiquids in vicinity of this or
any other appliance.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS
• Do not try to light any appliance.
• Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use any phone in your building.
• Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. Follow the gas suppliers
instructions.
• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the re department.
- Installation and service must be performed by a qualied installer, service agency or the
gas supplier.
This is an unvented gas-red heater. It uses air (oxygen) from the room in which it is
installed. Provisions for adequate combustion and ventilation air most be provided.
Refer to Air For Combustion and Ventilation section on page 9-11 of this manual.
This appliance may be installed in an aftermarket, permanently located manufactured (mobile)
home, where not prohibited by local codes.
This appliance is only for use with the type of gas indicated on the rating plate.
This appliance is not convertible for use with other gases.

      If you smell gas while your Pleasant Hearth Indoor Fireplace is burning, there might be foreign matter between the control valve and burner, or there could be a gas leak. You can take apart the gas tubing and remove any foreign matter. You can also locate and correct any gas leaks.

      If the ignitor button is pressed, but there is no spark at the ODS/pilot on your Pleasant Hearth Indoor Fireplace, it could be due to several reasons: the ignitor electrode is positioned wrong or broken, the ignitor electrode is not connected to the ignitor cable, the ignitor cable is pinched or wet, the ignitor cable is damaged or the piezo ignitor is bad. You may need to replace the electrode, ignitor cable, or piezo ignitor. Also, ensure the ignitor cable is free from being pinched and kept dry.

      If the ODS/pilot lights, but the flame goes out when you release the control knob on your Pleasant Hearth Indoor Fireplace, make sure the control knob is fully pressed in and held for at least 30 seconds after the ODS/pilot lights. Also, ensure the equipment shutoff valve is fully open and the thermocouple connection is snug (hand tighten, then ¼ turn more). If the problem persists, the thermocouple may be damaged and need replacement or the control valve may be damaged, so contact customer service.

      If, when you press the ignitor button on your Pleasant Hearth Indoor Fireplace, there is a spark at the ODS/pilot but no ignition, ensure the gas supply is turned on and the equipment shutoff valve is open. Fully press in the control knob while pressing the ignitor button. If there's air in the gas lines from a recent installation, continue holding down the control knob and repeat the igniting operation until the air is removed. Also, check that the control knob is in the PILOT position. If using propane, ensure the gas supply isn't depleted. If the ODS/pilot is clogged, clean it or replace the ODS/pilot assembly.
