Lubrication Recommendations
Front Gearcase Oil Check
The front gearcase lubricant level should be checked every six months
or 1000 miles (1600 km), whichever comes first. Front gearcase oil
should be changed annually.
1. Position the ATV on a level surface.
2. Remove the fill plug (1) and check the
lubricant level. Lubricant should be
kept 3/4” from the bottom of the fill
plug thread. Add Polaris Premium Hub
Drive Fluid when required. See page 117
for the part numbers of
Polaris-recommended products.
Front Gearcase Oil Change
1. Remove the fill plug.
2. Place a drain pan beneath the gearcase,
remove the gearcase drain plug located on the bottom right-hand
side, and drain t he oil.
3. Clean and reinstall the drain plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
4. Add 5 ounces (150 ml) of Polaris
Premium Hub Drive Fluid.
5. Reinstall the oil fill plug and check for leaks.
