Lubrication Recommendations
Rear Gearcase Oil Check
With the ATV on a level surface, remove the fill plug and visually
inspect the l ubricant level through the fill hole (1). Maintain the oil
level with the bottom of the fill plug hole.
Rear Gearcase Oil Chang e
1. Remove the drain plug (2). Catch
anddiscardusedoilproperly.
2. Clean and reinstall the drain plug
with a new sealing washer. Torque
to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
3. Remove the fill plug and add 5
ounces (150 ml) of Premium F ront
Gearcase Fluid (or GL5 80-90 weight
gear lube).
4. Inspect the oil level, which should be
maintained level with the bottom of the fill plug hole.
5. Reinstall t he fill plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm) and check for
leaks.
