Counter Balance Lubrication - 400 Engines
1. Counter Balance Drain
2. Crankcase Drain
3. Recoil Drain
4. Starter Pinion Drain
The counter balance oil
should be checked semi-
annually and oil should be
added or changed as nec-
essary. The oil should be
changed annually, espe-
cially before off season
storage. If the machine is
used in wet conditions the
oil should be checked more
frequently. If the oil has a
milky appearance it should
be changed as soon as
possible. Failure to proper-
ly maintain this important
area can result in prema-
ture wear or possible failure
of the counter balance
components. Always use
SAE 10W30 oil.
