  An engine backfire in your Polaris Utility Vehicle can occur due to several reasons. Check the following: * Inspect, clean, and/or replace the spark plugs if the spark is weak. * Ensure the spark plug gap and heat range are correct; adjust or replace as needed. * Replace old or non-recommended fuel with fresh, recommended fuel. * Check all ignition connections and tighten if loose. For incorrectly installed spark plug wires, incorrect ignition timing, or mechanical failure, please see your dealer. If water is present in the fuel, replace it with fresh, recommended fuel.

If not, refuel or replace the fuel. * Inspect the spark plugs for fouling or defects and replace if necessary. * Also, check for spark at the spark plug. * Recharge the battery to 12.8 VDC if the voltage is low. * If there is water or fuel in the crankcase, immediately see your POLARIS dealer. For mechanical failure, consult your dealer.
