General
Completely new engines have been developed for the Cayenne S and
Cayenne Turbo for the 2008 model year.
The main development aims were:
• More power and torque, while at the same time,
• Improving fuel economy and,
• Reducing the weight of the engine compared to previous engines.
These development aims have essentially been achieved due to
the following enhancements and new technologies:
• Larger displacement
• Direct fuel injection (DFI)
• Sport button as standard
• VarioCam Plus
• Demand controlled oil pump
