      fhamiltonAug 12, 2025
Your Porter-Cable Portable Generator might not start due to several reasons: it could be low on fuel or oil (add fuel or oil), the ignition switch might be in the 'Off' position (turn it to 'ON'), the spark plug could be faulty (replace it), the choke might be in the wrong position (adjust accordingly), the fuel shut-off valve might be closed (open it), the unit might be loaded during start-up (remove the load), or the spark plug wire might be loose (attach it to the spark plug).

      Julie ClarkAug 22, 2025
If your Porter-Cable Portable Generator isn't providing any electrical output, the issue could stem from a faulty receptacle (have a service center replace it), a tripped circuit breaker (depress and reset it), a defective capacitor (have a service center replace it), a faulty power cord (repair or replace the cord), or a tripped GFCI switch breaker (depress and reset it).

Repeated circuit breaker tripping on your Porter-Cable Portable Generator can be caused by an overload (reduce the load). It can also be due to faulty cords or equipment (check for damaged, bare, or frayed wires on equipment and replace if necessary).
