The red status protection LED indicates that a protection circuit has been activated. This can happen due to several reasons: * **Thermal protection:** This engages if the amplifier gets too hot. Ensure there's adequate airflow around the amplifier and verify the correct impedance at the speaker terminals. * **Voltage protection:** This engages if the voltage to the amplifier is outside the 10-16 VDC range. Inspect the battery and charging system. * **Short circuit protection:** This engages if there's a short circuit. Check for speaker wires shorted to each other or the vehicle chassis. Also, operating speakers below the minimum impedance can trigger this.
