To troubleshoot a Predator Portable Generator that won't start, first, ensure there's fuel in the tank and the fuel valve is open. If the engine is cold, make sure the choke is in the START position. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol (E15, E20, E85, etc.) and use fresh 87+ octane unleaded gasoline instead. Prime the carburetor by pulling the starter handle. If fuel passageways are dirty, clean them with a fuel additive. If the carburetor needle is stuck, gently tap the side of the carburetor float chamber. If there's too much fuel, turn the choke to RUN, remove the spark plug, pull the start handle, reinstall the spark plug, and set the choke to START. Finally, replace a clogged fuel filter if needed.
