Overview

The PROFORM® CROSSWALK 325x is a treadmill designed for in-home exercise, combining advanced technology with an innovative design. Its primary function is to provide a platform for walking or running, incorporating features for cardiovascular and upper body workouts. The treadmill is also designed for convenient storage, as it can be folded up to occupy less than half the floor space of other treadmills.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model Number: 831.293230
  • Weight Capacity: The treadmill is designed for use by persons weighing 250 pounds or less.
  • Power Requirements: The treadmill operates on a nominal 120-volt AC circuit and 15 amps. It requires a grounded outlet and is not compatible with GFCI-equipped outlets.
  • Surge Suppressor: A single-outlet surge suppressor is required. It must be UL 1449 listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS), with a UL suppressed voltage rating of 400 volts or less, and a minimum surge dissipation of 450 joules. It must also have a monitoring light to indicate proper functioning.
  • Walking Belt: Features a PERFORMANT LUBE™ high-performance lubricant. Silicone spray or other substances should not be applied to the walking belt or platform.
  • Storage Temperature: Should not be stored in temperatures above 85° Fahrenheit.

Usage Features:

  • Console and Displays: The console features various displays including Time/Distance, Fat Calories/Calories/Pulse, and Speed. It can display speed and distance in either miles or kilometers.
  • Speed Adjustment: Speed can be adjusted in small increments (0.1 mph per press, 0.5 mph when held down) to avoid sudden jumps.
  • Incline Adjustment: The treadmill's incline can be adjusted using dedicated buttons on the console.
  • Pulse Sensor: An optical pulse meter is integrated into the console to measure heart rate. Users place their thumb on the sensor for approximately 15 seconds for an accurate reading. It's important to stand still while measuring heart rate.
  • Upper Body Arms: The treadmill includes upper body arms that can be used for a total body workout, targeting arms, shoulders, and back. The resistance of these arms is adjustable by turning resistance knobs clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to decrease.
  • Safety Key/Clip: A safety key with a clip is provided. The key must be fully inserted into the console for the treadmill to operate, and the clip should be attached to the user's waistband. If the key is pulled from the console, the walking belt will stop.
  • Cushioned Walking Platform: Designed for maximum exercise comfort.
  • Bookrack and Water Bottle Holder: The console includes a bookrack and a holder for a water bottle (bottle not included).
  • Folding and Moving: The treadmill can be folded into a vertical position for storage, reducing its footprint. It features front wheels for easy movement once folded. Users must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill. A storage latch secures the frame in the folded position.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Inspection: All parts of the treadmill should be inspected and properly tightened regularly.
  • Walking Belt Adjustment: The walking belt's alignment and tension can be adjusted using an allen wrench. If the belt is off-center, it can be adjusted by turning the rear roller bolts. If the belt slows or slips, it may be overtightened or require adjustment. The belt should be tight enough to allow lifting each side 2 to 3 inches off the walking platform.
  • Reed Switch Adjustment: If the console displays do not function properly, the Reed Switch and Magnet may need adjustment. The gap between them should be about 1/8".
  • Upper Body Arm Squeaks: If the upper body arms squeak, white marine grease can be applied to the outer surface of the Resistance Cone (118) after disassembling the resistance knob and associated parts.
  • Cleaning: The treadmill should be cleaned with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. The power cord must be unplugged before cleaning.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as power failure, console display malfunctions, walking belt problems, and squeaking upper body arms. A toll-free HELPLINE is available for further assistance.

Safety Precautions:

  • Always read all precautions and instructions before use.
  • Ensure the treadmill is placed on a level surface with adequate clearance (at least eight feet behind and two feet on each side).
  • Keep children under 12 and pets away from the treadmill.
  • Wear appropriate athletic shoes and avoid loose clothing.
  • Never start the treadmill while standing on the walking belt.
  • Always remove the key and unplug the power cord when the treadmill is not in use.
  • Do not remove the motor hood unless instructed by an authorized service representative.
  • The pulse sensor is not a medical device; heart rate readings are intended as an exercise aid only.
