FACILITY REQUIREMENTS (Continued):
Mounting:
Ensure that the mounting location will adequately support the weight of the heater with
attached plumbing and the fluid in the system. Heater may be mounted vertically or
horizontally (Reference Figure 1).
NOTE: If optional housing purge/drain is used, heater must be oriented with the
purge outlet/drain fitting at the lowest point.
Housing Purge/Drain Requirements (Optional):
The SHC inline heater is equipped with two housing fittings, which may be used (optional) to
automate the detection method of an internal leak (Reference Figure 2).
Purge Inlet Fitting: Helps to expel liquid/vapors through the purge outlet/drain fitting.
Purge Outlet/Drain Fitting: Provides a means to route liquid/vapors to an external leak sensing
device.
Do not exceed maximum pressure rating of the
housing (Reference Table 2). Irreparable damage to
the heater will result.
