How to fix ProForm 831.299263 Treadmill when it won't turn on?

  If your ProForm Treadmill isn't powering on, ensure the power cord is plugged into a UL 1449 listed surge suppressor (TVSS) with specific ratings: a UL suppressed voltage rating of 400 volts or less, a minimum surge dissipation of 450 joules, and electrically rated for 120 volts AC and 15 amps. Note that the treadmill isn't compatible with GFCI-equipped outlets. Also, check that the key is fully inserted into the console, the circuit breaker near the power cord hasn't tripped (reset it after five minutes if it has), and the on/off switch is in the 'on' position.

  If your ProForm Treadmill shuts off while you're using it, first check the circuit breaker located near the power cord and reset it if necessary by waiting five minutes before pressing the switch back in. Ensure the power cord is securely plugged in and the key is fully inserted into the console. Also, verify that the on/off switch is in the 'on' position.

Why is the speed display not working on my ProForm 831.299263 Treadmill?

  If the speed display on your ProForm Treadmill console isn't working right, remove the key and unplug the power cord. Then, take off the hood and find the Reed Switch. Make sure the gap between the Magnet and the Reed Switch is about 1/8 of an inch. If needed, adjust the Reed Switch by loosening its screw, moving it slightly, and then tightening the screw again. Put the hood back on and test the treadmill to see if the speed reading is correct.
