3. Ceramic ps are used for making direct contact with ESD sensive parts and assemblies during
precision measurements
CERAMIC TIPS ARE FRAGILE. They are brile, and should be handled carefully to avoid
damage. Tips are not covered by warranty and are costly to replace.
4. Metal ps are used for general audit and equipment measurements
5. Short ps (0.4 in) provide greater accuracy than long ps (0.9 in) – See Performance Character-
iscs for detailed informaon
6. Use the supplied p installaon and removal tool to install the selected p.
7. Simplify installaon by inserng the pin point into the installaon tool.
8. Place the threaded pin base into the front probe gold threaded receptacle
9. Screw the pin clockwise unl just nger ght and seated into the threaded receptacle.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN TIP DURING INSTALLATION. Excess torque may damage the
probe assembly or pin and cause diculty during p replacement.
