Backup-Master ProximUnify:
Registers with the Master ProximUnify
Maintains relevant wireless domain information
Assumes the role of the Master ProximUnify in case the Master ProximUnify stops functioning
Client ProximUnify Modules:
Register with a Master/ Backup-Master ProximUnify
Update the Master or Backup-Master with mobility information
Configuring the ProximUnify Profile
The PXU Profile tab allows you configure the IP address and select the server status to enable or disable the profile.
The PXU Server Profile consists of two servers, a Primary and a Secondary. Configuring PXU Profiles on the AP allows
the administrator to define a profile for PXU Servers used by the system or by a VLAN.

To configure the PXU Profile, click Configure>Radius/PXU Profiles>PXU Profile. The PXU Profile page appears.
Following are the configurable fields to set up the PXU Profile to function.
1. PXU IP Address: Enter the IP address. The default is 0.0.0.0.
2. Domain Name: Enter the name of the domain.
3. Shared Secret/ Confirm Shared Secret: Enter the password shared by the PXU server and the AP. The same
password must also be configured on the PXU server. The default password is “public.”
4. Response Time: Enter the maximum time, in seconds, that the AP should wait for the PXU server to respond to a
request. The range is 1-10 seconds; the default is 3 seconds.
5. Retransmission: Enter the maximum number of times an authentication request may be transmitted. The range
is 0 to 4, the default is 3.
