PT W89727 - Operation Procedure

TO BLEED BRAKES:
1.Attacha3in.VacuumHose(5)tothebottomoftheJarLid(2a).(SeeFigureA.)
2.Attacha23in.VacuumHose(4)tothetopoftheJarLid(2a)marked“TOPUMP”.
Then, attach the other end of the 23 in. Vacuum Hose to the Brake Bleeder
 VacuumPump(1).SeeFigureA.)
3.FirmlyattachtheJarLid(2a)totheReservoirJar(3).(SeeFigureA.)
4.Removethecapfromthevehicle’smastercylinder,andchecktomakesurethe
 mastercylinderisfullofbrakeuid.Ifnotfull,llthemastercylindertocapacity
 withclean,newbrakeuid.(Useonlythekindofbrakeuidrecommendedbythe
vehicle manufacturer.)
NOTE: Determine the proper brake bleeding sequence from your vehicle service
manual (i.e., right rear wheel, left rear wheel, right front wheel, left front wheel).
5.Connectthe23in.VacuumHose(4)totheremainingportontheJarLid(2a)and
 thenconnecttheotherendtotheBrakeBleederScrewAdapter(9).
6. Squeeze the Handle of the Brake Bleeder/Vacuum Pump (1) 10 to 15 times to
 createavacuuminitsReservoirJar(3).
NOTE: The Gauge on the Brake Bleeder/Vacuum Pump should read at approximately
10 in./Hg. Do not exceed 20 in./Hg. A greater vacuum could damage the vehicle’s
brake system.
7. OncetheBrakeBleeder/VacuumPump(1)isready,checkforleaksattheReservoir
 Jar(3)andatallVacuumHose(4,5)connections.Ifthereisaleak,releasethe
 vacuumintheBrakeBleeder/VacuumPumpwiththeVacuumReleaseControl.

WARNING! NEVER remove the Jar Lid (2a) before releasing the vacuum in the
Brake Bleeder/Vacuum Pump. Correct the leak, and once again create a vacuum
in the Brake Bleeder/Vacuum Pump to approximately 10 in./Hg.
8. Openthevehicle’swheelcaliperbleederscrew,andallowbrakeuidtoowinto
 theReservoirJar(3).Then,retightenthewheelcaliperbleederscrewafterbleeding.
9.ReleasethevacuumintheBrakeBleeder/VacuumPump(1)withtheVacuum
 ReleaseControl.Then,disconnecttheBrakeBleederScrewAdapter(9)fromthe
 vehicle’swheelcaliperbleederscrew.
