What does Puretec Water Dispenser error E4 mean?
    • R
      Robert BrennanSep 10, 2025
Error code E4 on your Puretec Water Dispenser means that the control valve motor ran too long and timed out trying to reach the home position. This is due to the drive bracket not being correctly installed. To resolve this, snap the drive bracket in correctly and perform a 'dry' reset.

Why is regenerant being delivered to my Puretec SOL40-E3 Water Dispenser service?
    • J
      Jeremy BrownSep 12, 2025
If regenerant is being delivered to your Puretec Water Dispenser service, it could be due to low water pressure (check incoming water pressure – water pressure must remain at minimum of 25 psi), an incorrect injector size (replace injector with correct size for application), or a restricted/kinked drain line (check drain line for restrictions or debris, or unkink drain line).

Why does my Puretec SOL40-E3 valve fail to draw in regenerant?
    • J
      James LunaSep 13, 2025
If your Puretec Water Dispenser valve fails to draw in regenerant, it could be caused by a plugged injector (clean or replace injector), regenerant piston failure (clean or replace regenerant piston), a leak in the regenerant line (inspect regenerant line for air leak), a restricted or kinked drain line (check drain line for restrictions or debris, or unkink drain line), a drain line that is too long or too high (shorten length and or height), or low water pressure (check incoming water pressure – water pressure must remain at minimum of 25 psi).

Why is water running to drain in my Puretec SOL40-E3 Water Dispenser?
    • J
      John VelazquezSep 15, 2025
If water is running to the drain in your Puretec Water Dispenser, it could be due to a power outage during regeneration, foreign material present in the valve, a leak from the seal/spacer stack assembly, piston assembly failure, or a loose/damaged drive cap assembly. To resolve this, reset the time of day and replace the battery (CR2032) if there was a power outage. Additionally, remove the drive cap, piston, and spacer assemblies to clean and relubricate the components, then assemble the valve and run a manual backwash. Alternatively, clean or replace the spacer stack assembly, piston assembly, or tighten/replace the drive cap assembly.

Why does my Puretec SOL40-E3 Water Dispenser valve not indicate water flow?
    • R
      ricardo49Sep 18, 2025
If your Puretec Water Dispenser valve does not indicate that water is flowing, it could be due to the bypass valve being in bypass operation or faulty (turn bypass to normal operation or replace bypass), the meter not connected (connect meter to three pin connection labelled MOTOR on PC Board), a restricted/stalled meter turbine (remove meter and check for rotation or foreign material/replace meter), a defective meter (replace meter), or a defective PC Board (replace PC Board).

What to do if my Puretec SOL40-E3 Water Dispenser delivers hard water?
    • J
      Juan BennettNov 21, 2025
If your Puretec Water Dispenser is delivering hard or untreated water, it could be due to several reasons: * The bypass valve might be in bypass operation or faulty. Turn the bypass to normal operation or replace it. * The media might be exhausted due to high water usage. Check program settings or diagnostics for abnormal water usage. * The media bed could be fouled. Clean or replace the media. * The meter might not be registering or is faulty. Remove the meter and check for rotation or foreign material; replace the meter if necessary. * There might be a water quality fluctuation. Test the water and contact Puretec for assistance. * There might be no regenerant or a low level of regenerant. Refill the regenerant tank. * The valve might fail to draw regenerant.
