Special Rangehoods are hoods made to specific designs and not covered by the instructions in this booklet
for standard hoods, although the basic rules will still apply.
Generally, special rangehoods are either wall or ceiling mounted and therefore are installed in the same
manner as the rangehoods in the previous pages.
Standard ducting will apply unless special ducting is supplied with the hood.

Cleaning of Stainless Steel
QASAIR Rangehoods are made from stainless steel type 304 and is considered 18/8 SS.
This means the stainless steel is 18% chromium and 8% nickel in the mix. The steel becomes stainless
by the chromium oxidising in the open air to form a protective coating of chromium oxide. This coating
can be upset by coming in contact with a substance that will attack the chromium oxide, such as a
lemon solution or any cleaner with a preservative in it.
Therefore, only clean the rangehood with an approved stainless steel cleaner. Methylated spirits or warm
soapy water with soap will do it. Do not use powder detergent.
