  If the main burner of your Quadra-Fire Indoor Fireplace won't light, there are several potential causes. First, the pilot light may have gone out; in this case, relight the pilot. Second, the gas control knob might not be turned to the “ON” position; if so, turn the valve to “ON”. Third, the ON/OFF switch may not be properly set; ensure the switch is “ON” and check the wiring connections at both the valve and the switch. Fourth, the thermostat could be set too high or be disconnected; try setting the thermostat to a lower temperature. Finally, a bad thermopile could be the issue; inspect the wiring connections, referring to the wiring diagram, and ensure it has enough time to heat up to the correct temperature (about a minute).

First, the gas control knob might not be turned to the “PILOT” position; if so, turn the knob to PILOT and push in on the valve. Second, the gas may not be turned on; in this case, check the shutoff valve. Third, the ignitor may not be working; inspect the wiring between the piezo button and ignitor, check for cracks on the ceramic of the electrode, and verify the spacing of the ignitor tip and pilot hood, ensuring the spark extends approximately 1/8” to the bottom of the pilot hood, adjusting the gap if needed.

  If the glass of your Quadra-Fire Indoor Fireplace is fogging up, this is a normal result of gas combustion. No action is necessary. After the heater has warmed up, the glass will clear.

  If the pilot light on your Quadra-Fire Indoor Fireplace won't stay lit, it may be due to a defective thermocouple. Check the pilot flame and adjust it if necessary. Be sure the thermocouple is constantly in contact with the pilot flame and that the thermocouple line is securely attached to the valve.

  If the flames on your Quadra-Fire Indoor Fireplace are too short, it could be due to the valve being set too low or the air shutter being too wide. Turn the variable head to “HI”. Close down the air shutter; it is not recommended to close it unless absolutely necessary.

  If you notice blue flames on your Quadra-Fire Indoor Fireplace, this is a normal result during the first 20 minutes of burning. No action is necessary. The flames will begin to turn more yellowish after about 20 minutes of burning.
