The CubicSecure LTCS01 is an intelligent water shut-off device designed to protect homes from water damage caused by leaks. It continuously monitors water consumption, pressure, and temperature to detect various types of leaks and automatically shut off the water flow when a leak is identified. This device is suitable for installation in villas, terraced houses, and apartments.

Function Description

The CubicSecure LTCS01 measures water flow in real-time, providing immediate detection of water leaks, from micro-leaks to broken pipes. Its compact design allows for easy installation in water cabinets. The device can operate autonomously, but for remote notifications about alarms and access to individual water consumption data, it needs to be connected to Wi-Fi. When connected, users can control the CubicSecure remotely through a dedicated mobile application. The device is developed and manufactured in Sweden, utilizing advanced technology for water measurement.

Usage Features

Installation: The device should be installed by a plumber according to Safe Water Installation industry regulations. It is mounted on the main incoming water pipe directly after the water meter's shut-off valve and any non-return valve. Connections should be tightened without damaging the plastic casing. Security systems (e.g., residential sprinklers) and backwashed water filters should be connected before the CubicSecure to ensure their proper function. For metal pipes in the distributor cabinet, electrical protective equalization (earthing) must be installed by a qualified electrician if not already present.

Hot/Cold Water Pairing: To prevent scalding in apartments, two CubicSecures can be paired for synchronized automatic shut-off between hot and cold water lines. This involves holding the CONNECT button on both devices for 5 seconds, first on the cold water device (flashing YELLOW and BLUE), then on the hot water device (flashing YELLOW and RED). Successful pairing is indicated by both CONNECT LEDs flashing GREEN rapidly.

Wi-Fi Setup: For remote monitoring and control, the device requires a Wi-Fi connection and the Quandify app, available on App Store and Google Play Store. The app provides access to measurements and alarms.

LED Indications: The device features several LEDs (STATUS, WATER ON/OFF, CONNECT) to indicate its operational status, power supply, leak detection status, Wi-Fi connectivity, and valve position.

• STATUS LED:
  • OFF: Device not powered.
  • WHITE: Working normally, no alarms.
  • WHITE flashing: Updating, some functions temporarily disabled.
  • YELLOW: Leak detection deactivated.
  • YELLOW flashing: Detected water leakage.
  • GREEN flashing: Collecting micro-leakage data, valve closed.
  • RED: Device not working properly.
• WATER ON/OFF LED:
  • OFF: Valve closed, water supply off.
  • WHITE: Valve open, water supply on.
  • WHITE flashing: Ongoing water flow.
  • YELLOW: Valve position changed manually.
  • RED: Very low water pressure, air bubbles, or no water in pipe.
• CONNECT LED:
  • OFF: Wi-Fi off, not configured.
  • WHITE: Wi-Fi configured, connected to cloud.
  • WHITE flashing: Hotspot mode for Wi-Fi configuration.
  • YELLOW flashing: Ongoing pairing establishment.
  • YELLOW/BLUE flashing: Pairing completed (cold water device).
  • YELLOW/RED flashing: Pairing completed (hot water device).
  • GREEN flashing: Hot/cold water pairing successful.
  • RED flashing: No internet or cloud connection.

Leakage Alarms: The device detects three types of leaks:

• Micro leakage (> 0.01 l/h): Detected by daily automatic valve closure to measure pressure drop (above 0.5 bar for max 45 seconds).
• Medium leakage (> 6 l/h for at least 45 minutes): Device alarms and shuts off water.
• Large leakage (> 1500 l/h for at least 90 seconds): Device alarms and closes valve. Larger leakage alarms override smaller detections. Thresholds can be modified via the mobile app.

Buttons & Indications:

• Manual valve switch: For overriding the valve manually.
• Factory reset button hole: For performing a factory reset.
• CONNECT LED & button: For pairing and Wi-Fi configuration.
• STATUS LED: Indicates device status.
• ON/OFF button & LED: For controlling water flow and indicating valve status.

Function Check:

• Water Shut-off Check: Press WATER ON/OFF button to close valve (LED off), open a tap to confirm no water flow. Press again to open valve (LED white), confirm water flow.
• Micro-leakage Detection Check: Open a tap to simulate a small leak (dripping stream). Press WATER ON/OFF to close valve. STATUS LED flashes GREEN while pressure sensor scans for 45 seconds. If a leak is found, STATUS LED flashes YELLOW. Close tap, press WATER ON/OFF to open valve.
• Leakage Detection Check: Open a tap to full flow for at least 45 minutes. Device should alarm and shut off water. Close tap and reset device.

Acknowledge Alarms: Press WATER ON/OFF button once to acknowledge and turn off the alarm. Press again to open the valve. Acknowledgment resets all ongoing leak detections.

Disable Leakage Detection: Leakage detection can be temporarily deactivated for 24 hours (e.g., for filling a pool) via the app or by holding the WATER ON/OFF button for 5 seconds (LED turns yellow).

Reset Wi-Fi: If CONNECT LED is red or dark, press CONNECT button once. If white, restart device with power cable and press CONNECT button when LED is red. Can also be done via the app.

Factory Reset: Insert a paperclip into the reset button hole while plugging in the power cable for 3 seconds. Wait about three minutes for the device to reset and LEDs to light up again. Note that this will erase firmware updates and hot/cold pairings.

Operation: The mobile app provides access to device data such as water usage, temperature, pressure, valve position, and leakage status. The device performs daily automatic leakage tests and exercises the ball-valve when powered on. After a power failure, the device returns to its previous mode.

Serial Number: A 12-character serial number and a data-matrix barcode are located on the bottom of the CubicSecure for identification.

Maintenance Features

Faulty Devices: If the device is faulty, contact an authorized distributor for assistance. All service must be performed by an authorized Quandify service center, using only original manufacturer spare parts for replacements.

End of Life: When the device reaches the end of its life, it should be sorted as electronics and deposited at a recycling center.

Warranty: Quandify is responsible for product faults and may replace or repair the product with a new or repaired one. The liability period for replacement or repair does not exceed the original product's liability period. Quandify is not responsible for faults due to accidents, incorrect installation, liquid damage, incorrect care, abuse, or other irregular use, nor for any loss or damage caused by a non-functioning product. Its responsibility is strictly limited to product replacement.
