Before operang the windlass, make sure that the safety
lanyard is removed from the anchor.
Built in to the stern windlass is an auto stop funcon that shuts the motor down once the anchor is
fully retracted and in the stored posion on the anchor roller. Mounted on the transom, the leaded
core rope goes through a mounng plate containing sensors. A red auto stop located at the end of the
rope will automacally shut the windlass o when it comes in contact with the sensors in the
mounng plate.

11. Steering
Your boat comes equipped with a hydraulic steering system. The basic system for a single engine boat
contains a steering wheel, a hydraulic helm pump, a hydraulic steering cylinder, and hydraulic hoses.
Operaon
When turning the steering wheel, the helm pump forces hydraulic uid through hoses to and from the
steering cylinder which is connected to the ller arm on the engine. The cylinder moves the ller arm
to either port or starboard, depending upon the direcon the steering wheel is turned.
Filling and Maintenance
A hydraulic steering system rarely needs to be relled aer the system is bled. However, if you ever
need to add uid to the system, refer to the steering manufacturer’s manual for complete
instrucons. The ll point is located on the helm itself, in front of the steering wheel.

12. Engine Controls
Depending on the engine installed on your boat, you will either have a mechanical gear shi/throle
control unit or a “drive by wire” Digital Throle and Shi (DTS®) control unit. The control unit,
located to the starboard side of the steering wheel, acvates both the shiing and throle for the
engine.
