Before operang the windlass, make sure that the safety
lanyard is removed from the anchor.
Built in to the stern windlass is an auto stop funcon that shuts the motor down once the anchor is
fully retracted and in the stored posion on the anchor roller. Mounted on the transom, the leaded
core rope goes through a mounng plate containing sensors. A red auto stop located at the end of the
rope will automacally shut the windlass o when it comes in contact with the sensors in the

11. Steering
Your boat comes equipped with a hydraulic steering system. The basic system for a single engine boat
contains a steering wheel, a hydraulic helm pump, a hydraulic steering cylinder, and hydraulic hoses.
Operaon
When turning the steering wheel, the helm pump forces hydraulic uid through hoses to and from the
steering cylinder which is connected to the ller arm on the engine. The cylinder moves the ller arm
to either port or starboard, depending upon the direcon the steering wheel is turned.
Filling and Maintenance
A hydraulic steering system rarely needs to be relled aer the system is bled. However, if you ever
need to add uid to the system, refer to the steering manufacturer’s manual for complete
instrucons. The ll point is located on the helm itself, in front of the steering wheel.

12. Engine Controls
Depending on the engine installed on your boat, you will either have a mechanical gear shi/throle
control unit or a “drive by wire” Digital Throle and Shi (DTS®) control unit. The control unit,
located to the starboard side of the steering wheel, acvates both the shiing and throle for the
engine.
