Quicksilver 675PH— Electrical Systems
39
1. DC Electrical System
The DC electrical system is powered by dual baeries, and is kept charged by the engine driven
alternator.
2. Baeries
Refer to your engine owner’s manual for exact baery requirements.
To remove the baery cables:
1. Turn o all items drawing power from the baery.
2. Turn the baery switch to the OFF posion.
3. Remove the negave cable rst, then the posive cable.
To replace the cables, install the posive cable rst, then the negave cable.
3. Baery Boxes
The baery boxes, located in the a bilge, houses the baeries. These boxes can be accessed via the
starboard a cockpit oor hatch. The baeries can be installed or removed by loosening the straps
and removing the lids on the baery boxes. They should always be installed and secured within the
baery boxes installed on your boat. This will ensure that the baeries will not move around while the
boat is underway.
4. Baery Switch
Your vessel is equipped with a baery switch to control the delivery of DC power from the baery.
The baery switch is located on the starboard side under the a coaming cap.
There is a single baery switch that controls two isolated baery banks. When you turn the baery
switch to Posion “1”, power is provided from the rst baery. When you turn the baery switch to
posion2” power is provided from the second baery.
The baery switch also has the ability to combine baery banks at posion “1 &2”. This is the
recommended posion for normal operaon as it will allow both baeries to be charged when the
engine is running.
The boat may be operated on one baery at a me when using accessories without the engine
running to reserve power in the opposite baery.
NOTE: Never operate or turn o the baery switch when the engine is running as it may cause
damage to electronic components on the boat. Always operate the switch with the engine and
accessories o.
Never use an open ame in the baery storage area. Avoid
striking sparks in the baery area.
Always disconnect the baery before doing any work on the
electrical system. Never turn o the baery switches or
disconnect the baery cables while the engines are running.
The bilge pump sll draws power from the baery, even if
the switch is set to OFF. This is especially important for the
bilge pump, so that it can operate anyme excess uid
accumulates in the bilge, which can occur when the boat is
docked and unaended.
Never work on the electrical system while the system is
energized. Never leave the cra unaended with the
electrical system energized.
