Calibration
First Flight
Performapreightchecktoseethatthecontrolsaremovinginthecorrectdirecon.Thisisbest
performedwiththePASSsystemsettoNoAssist.Aerthecheck,switchthePASSsystemto
FullAssistandaimtheaircraintothewind.Theidealyingsiteneedstobeaboutthesizeof
aballfieldandwithoutobstacles.Smoothlyadvancethethroleandallowtheaircratotake
oaerashortroll.Gentlypullbackontheelevatorscktoclimbandiniateaturntokeep
theaircrawithineasyvisualdistance.Fullthroleisnotrequiredandforlearningpurposesa
throlesengof1/2to2/3throleisbest.Rememberthattheaircrawillreturntolevelight
ifthecontrolscksarereleased.Whenreadyforlandingmakeyourapproachwiththenoseof
theairplanepointedintothewind.ReducethethroletodescendandallowthePASSsystemto
aidinmaintaingagentleglidetotouchdown.
The PASS system used in the Super Cub MX is pre-calibrated from the factory. Recalibraon is
only necessary if the aircra does not respond correctly (pitches up or down) when the PASS
switch is acvated. With the aircra sing on a level surface and the tail raised to a "wings
level" atude, follow the steps below to recalibrate the PASS system:
