  Excessive salt usage in your RainSoft water dispenser can happen for several reasons. One reason might be soft water being used to water the lawn; in that case, bypass the outside faucet(s) or show the customer how to use the bypass valve while watering the lawn. Another reason could be incorrect capacity or hardness settings; verify that the settings are correct. Finally, the brine refill rate might be incorrect (see Symptom 7).

Also, inspect the injector and injector screen for debris, cleaning or replacing them if necessary. Worn internal seals or a worn or broken brine cam lobe can also be culprits; inspect the internal seals and replace the brine cam if needed.

Alternatively, the bypass valve might be open, so ensure it is closed. Finally, check that the power supply is properly connected.
