Manoverboard
Ifyouloseapersonorobjectoverboard,youcanusetheMan
Overboard(MOB)functiontomarkthepositionthatthevessel
wasatwhentheMOBfunctionwasactivated.
TheMOBfunctionisavailableatalltimes,regardlessofwhich
applicationisrunning.MOBcanbesettoDeadReckoning
orPositionmode.DeadReckoningmodewilltakeinto
considerationtheeffectsofwindandtides.Thisusuallyprovides
amoreaccuratecourse.Positionmodedoesnottakethese
factorsintoaccount.
ToobtainaMOBposition,yourmultifunctiondisplaymusthave
aGPSpositionx.Ifyou'reusingdeadreckoning,headingand
speeddatamustalsobeavailable.
WhenMOBisactivated:
•AnaudibleMOBalarmissounded.
•AnMOBalarmdialogboxisdisplayed.
•ThesystemsendsMOBalarmstootherRaymarine
equipment.
•Theactivechartapplicationischangedtoalow-detail2D
view,withaninitialrangeof15m(50ft).Motionmodeisset
toAutoRange.
•Theactiveradarapplicationrangeischangedto230m(760
ft).
•AllGotoandFollowfunctionsaredisabledinallapplications.
Navigationtoanyactivewaypointisstoppedandanyexisting
navigationfunctioniscancelled.
•Ifpositionorheadingandspeedinformationisavailablea
MOBwaypointisplacedatthecurrentvesselpositioninany
applicationthatiscapableofshowingwaypointsandvessel
position.
•MOBdataisdisplayedinthedatabar,replacingtheexisting
data.
•MOBdataisdisplayedonthehomescreen,replacingthe
statusicons.
•AsthevesselmovesawayfromtheMOBpositionadotted
lineisdisplayed,joiningtheMOBpositionwiththevessel's
position.
WhentheMOBalarmiscancelled:
•MOBdataisremovedfromtherelevantapplications.
•Thechartapplicationmotionmodeisreset.
•Thechartiscenteredonthevesselandpitch/rotationset
todefault.
•GOTOandroutefunctionsarerestored.
•Thedatabarmodeisreset.
•AMOBnormalmodesignalissenttoanyinstrumenton
SeaTalk.
