FishnderTransducerCalibration
Yourshndertransducermustbecalibratedcorrectlytoachieve
accuratedepthreadings.
Themultifunctiondisplayreceivestheimagefromasonar
modulewhichprocessessonarsignalsfromatransducer
mountedinthewater.Ifthetransducerisequippedwithaspeed
paddlewheelandtemperature-sensingthermistor,thesonar
modulecalculatesspeedandtemperature.T oensureaccurate
readings,itmaybenecessarytocalibratethetransducer(s)
byapplyingoffsetstodepth,speedandtemperature.As
thesesettingsareheldinthesonarmoduleandrelatetothe
transducer,theyareappliedsystem-wide.
DepthOffset
Depthsaremeasuredfromthetransducertotheseabed,but
youcanapplyanoffsetvaluetothedepthdata,sothatthe
displayeddepthreadingrepresentsthedepthtotheseabed
fromeitherthekeelorthewater
line.
Beforeattemptingtosetawaterlineorkeeloffset,ndout
theverticalseparationbetweenthetransducerandeither
thewaterlineorthebottomofthekeelonyourvessel,as
appropriate.Thensettheappropriatedepthoffsetvalue.
