Theunitdoesnotrequireregularcleaning.However
,ifyoufinditnecessarytocleantheunit,
pleasefollowthestepsbelow:
1.Ensurepowerisswitchedoff.
2.Wipeunitcleanwithadampcloth.
3.Ifnecessary,useamilddetergentsolutiontoremovegreasemarks.
Transducercareandcleaning
Growthcancollectonthebottomofthetransducer,thiscanreduceperformance.T opreventthe
build-upofseagrowth,coatthetransducerwithathinlayerofwater-basedanti-foulingpaint,
availablefromyourlocalmarinedealer.Reapplypaintevery6monthsoratthebeginningofeach
boatingseason.Certainsmarttransducershaverestrictionsonwhereantifoulingpaintisapplied.

Note:
•T ransducerswithatemperaturesensormaynotworkproperlyifpainted.
•DoNOTusecopper-basedantifoulingpaint.
•Neveruseketone-basedpaint.Ketonescanattackmanyplastics,possiblydamagingthesensor.
•Neveruseaspraycanoraspongerollertoapplypainttoyourtransducer.Usingthesemethods
causestinyairbubblestobeincorporatedinthepaint,andamarinetransducercannottransmit
properlythroughair.
•HarshcleaningsolventssuchasacetoneWILLdamagethetransducer.
Useasoftclothandmildhouseholddetergenttocleanthetransducer .Ifthefoulingissevere,
removethegrowthwithatoughcleaningpad,suchasagreenScotchBrite™padforexample.Be
carefultoavoidscratchingthefaceofthetransducer.
