      Haley DavisNov 21, 2025
To resolve serial communication issues with your RayTek Scanner via the COM port, consider the following: * Verify that you're using the correct COM port. If the current port is problematic, try using a different COM port on your computer. * Adjust the COM port properties to prevent communication problems: Navigate to and set the to Low. * If you're using plug-in serial cards, disable for Auto Flow Control: Go to . * Avoid using third-party USB/RS232 converters. * Ensure the RS232/485 converter is positioned close to the PC, not the scanner. * If you encounter communication errors, gradually reduce the baud rate. * Avoid launching the software during the scanner's initialization period (approximately 30 seconds).

How to troubleshoot a RayTek MP150?
    • M
      Melanie GoodwinDec 1, 2025
To troubleshoot a RayTek Scanner, begin by checking the wiring for correctly fitted connectors and any cable damage. Verify the scanner is getting power by checking the LED on the scanner's backside: a red LED indicates power for MP50 models, while a green LED indicates power for MP150 models. Also, check the rotation of the internal scanner mirror, assuming the power is on, by viewing or hearing it. Ensure the scanner and PC are powered from the same location. Prevent overheating by keeping the internal housing temperature below 60°C (140°F). Check for condensation inside the scanner housing, as this can cause a total outage. Mount the scanner and cables away from motors or heaters that produce strong electrical fields. Finally, make sure the measurement window is clean and the field of v...
