This document describes the RCA RPJ065 Portable Projector Entertainment System, a versatile device designed for various media playback and projection needs.
The RCA RPJ065 is a portable projector that serves as an entertainment system, capable of projecting images and videos from multiple sources onto a screen. It features built-in speakers for audio output and supports various input methods including HDMI, USB, AV IN, and VGA. The projector also includes Bluetooth connectivity for wireless audio streaming from external devices. Its portability is enhanced by a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, allowing for use in locations without immediate access to a power outlet. The device is designed for optimal performance in dark viewing environments.
The projector can be placed in four configurations: Front Table (most common for quick setup and portability), Rear Table (requires a special rear projection screen), Front Ceiling, and Rear Ceiling. To reduce image distortion, the projector should be moved as close to the center of the screen as possible, with the light beam perpendicular to the screen for a rectangular or square image.
Focus is adjusted by turning a knob near the lens, observing pixels at the screen's center for clarity. Keystone correction, for distorted images when the projector is not perfectly perpendicular to the screen, is also adjusted via a dedicated knob.
The projector can be controlled via a remote control or buttons on the unit itself.
The unit is powered by an included AC adapter. To charge the built-in battery, connect the adapter to the DC IN jack and a wall outlet. A red charging indicator light turns green when fully charged. For battery operation, unplug the adapter. The charging indicator logo will appear on the screen when the battery is low. It is recommended to fully discharge and recharge the battery to prolong its life. For long periods of disuse, turn off the power switch and unplug the adapter.
After installing a USB device, navigate the Media Player menu to select PHOTO, MUSIC, MOVIE, or TEXT. Use the navigation buttons to select files and start playback. Functions like fast forward/rewind, next/previous file, pause/resume, and image scaling (zoom) are available.
Pairing an external Bluetooth device (e.g., smartphone) allows for wireless audio streaming. The effective distance is 10 meters (30 feet). The projector will display "Connected" upon successful pairing. To pair a new device, press and hold the PAIR button. Music playback can be controlled via the remote or unit buttons (play/pause, previous/next track, volume). In ECO mode, the projector function turns off, but can be resumed by pressing the PROJECTOR button.
The projector features three main menus accessible via the MENU button:
The manual emphasizes important safety instructions, including reading all warnings, avoiding water, proper ventilation, protection of the power cord, using manufacturer-specified attachments, unplugging during lightning storms or long periods of disuse, and caution when moving the unit on a cart. It also includes FCC warnings regarding interference and radiation exposure limits.
