Overview

This document is a user manual for the Realm BCO-H Electric Pressure Washer.

Function Description

The Realm BCO-H Electric Pressure Washer is a high-pressure electric power washer designed for residential use. Its primary function is to clean vehicles, machines, buildings, facades, and other surfaces by ejecting a high-pressure stream of water. The machine consists of an assembly with a pump encased in a shock-absorbing housing, equipped with a spray wand and a non-slip handle grip for optimal operator working position. It is designed to be used with cold water, as higher temperatures can damage the pump. The device incorporates a Total Stop System (TSS) which senses water flow in the pump. When the trigger is released, water stops flowing, and the TSS automatically turns the motor off to protect the pump from overheating, saving energy and prolonging pump life. The pressure washer can also be used with detergents specifically designed for pressure washers to enhance cleaning effectiveness.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Motor: Brush
  • Max. pressure: 2100PSI
  • Max flow: 1.6GPM
  • Current: 13A
  • Voltage: 120V~/60Hz
  • Water temperature: 40°C
  • Operating temperature: Between 32°F (0°C) and 104°F (40°C).
  • Power Cable: If an extension cable is used, the plug and socket must be waterproof and conform to specific length and dimension requirements: 1.0 mm² max. 12.5 m or 1.5mm² max. 20 m.
  • Water Supply: The unit must never be operated without a system separator on the potable water system (EN 12729 type BA system separator). Water that passes through a system separator is classified as non-potable. The intake water temperature must not exceed 104°F/40°C. Clean water must be used; unfiltered water containing corrosive chemicals will damage the washer.
  • Safety Devices: Equipped with an unloader valve to reduce pressure if it exceeds pre-set values. The trigger gun features a locking device.
  • Thermal Sensor: A thermal sensor protects the motor against overloading. The machine will restart after a few minutes when the thermal sensor has cooled.
  • Electrical Connection: Should be done by a qualified electrician conforming to 60364-1 CEI. It is recommended that the electrical supply comprise a residual current device which interrupts the current if leakage exceeds 30 mA for 30ms.

Usage Features

  • Assembly: The manual provides detailed instructions for assembling the pressure washer, including attaching the gun holder, power cord, spray wand, high-pressure hose, and garden hose adaptor.
  • Nozzles: The device supports various nozzles, including extension spray wand, angle nozzle (optional), turbo nozzle (optional), and detergent bottle with soap nozzle. Nozzles should never be changed without locking the safety lock on the trigger handle.
  • Detergent Application: The pressure washer can apply detergent from a dedicated bottle. Users must unscrew the cap, fill with detergent, connect the bottle to the gun lance, and adjust the foam spraying amount via the valve. Only detergents designed for pressure washers should be used; household detergents, acids, alkaline solutions, bleaches, solvents, flammable material, or industrial-grade solutions are prohibited.
  • Patio Cleaner (optional): An optional patio cleaner accessory can be used for cleaning patios, driveways, etc.
  • Angle Nozzle (optional): An optional angle nozzle can be used for cleaning hard-to-reach areas like car underbodies or lawnmowers.
  • Operation: To start, turn on the water supply, release the trigger lock, press the trigger until water flow is steady, and then turn the motor switch to the ON position.
  • Shutting Down: To shut down, turn the switch to OFF, unplug the power cord, turn off the water source, hold the trigger to release water pressure, disconnect hoses, and engage the gun safety lock.
  • Safety Precautions: Users must hold the trigger gun and lance firmly with both hands during operation due to thrust. The jet must not be directed at persons, pets, live electrical equipment, or the appliance itself. Wear safety gloves and suitable protective clothing.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning Nozzles: A needle clean out tool is provided for cleaning clogged nozzles.
  • Water Inlet Filter: The water inlet filter should be checked and cleaned regularly to prevent foreign matter from clogging the pump.
  • Hose Inspection: Regularly examine hoses for damage. Damaged hoses should be replaced immediately.
  • Winterizing and Long-Term Storage:
    • Store the pressure washer in a dry, covered area where the temperature will not fall below 32°F (0°C) to prevent freezing, which can cause permanent damage to the pump. Freeze damage is not covered by the warranty.
    • Before storing, disconnect all water connections.
    • Turn on the machine for a few seconds until remaining water in the pump exits.
    • Do not allow the high-pressure hose to become kinked.
    • Store the machine and accessories in a room that does not reach freezing temperatures.
    • Do not store near a furnace or other sources of heat that may dry out the pump seals.
    • Operate the pressure washer with non-corrosive/non-toxic anti-freeze, a pump saver, or a pump protector before storing for the winter.
    • Before reusing, completely flush the unit out with clear water. Anti-freeze products can damage paintwork, so ensure no anti-freeze is left in the system.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual includes a troubleshooting guide for common issues like the machine not starting, fluctuating pressure, the machine stopping, fuse blown, pulsing machine, and the machine turning on and off by itself, along with possible causes and solutions.
  • Environmental Protection: The product and its packaging are recyclable. Users are advised to hand over the product to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
