primes slowly
Leaks in the suction line. Repair leaks in suction line.
Loose gasket connection due to shrink-
age of the gasket.
Replace gasket. Refer to “
Replacement Parts” on page 8.
Collapsed or clogged suction line. Inspect suction line. Clean or replace as needed.
Not enough water in the casing for prim-
ing.
Add additional water and repeat priming process.
Suction lift is too great. Relocate the pump closer to the water source.
Reduced pressure or
capacity
Partially collapsed or clogged suction
hose.
Inspect suction line. Clean or replace as needed.
Clogged impeller. Inspect the impeller. Replace if necessary.
Leaks in the suction line. Repair leaks in suction line.
Strainer or end suction hose is not prop-

Suction lift is too great. Relocate the pump closer to the water source.
Worn parts, such as the impeller or the
pump casing.
Inspect all pump parts closely. Refer to “
Disassembly” on
page 6 and “Replacement Parts” on page 8.
Poor or little capacity Improper impeller rotation. Verify impeller rotates in counter-clockwise direction as seen
