Healthy Leg Circulation
The heart is the main muscle-pump of the circulatory system, pumping oxygen-rich
blood through the arteries (‘arterial flow’).
After all the goodness from the blood has been used and any waste products
collected, the blood enters the veins and the blood is carried back to the heart.
Returning the blood back to the heart from the feet and legs is an uphill challenge.
Gravity forces the veins to work harder.
The leg muscles are what is known as the ‘second heart’, helping to pump blood back
up the legs.
The leg muscles contract and relax to push blood through one-way valves and back
to the heart.

Signs and Symptoms of Poor Circulation
When leg muscles are inactive for long periods while standing or sitting, the blood flow in
the leg veins slows significantly and consequently blood and fluid begin to pool - this is poor
circulation. This pooling creates pressure in the leg veins, causing the painful feeling of tired,
aching and heavy legs.
Poor leg health and poor circulation can be caused by a variety of factors - age, certain medical
conditions (such as diabetes, arthritis and venous disease) and even just being less active, can
all impair circulation.
Those at risk may include:
NOTE: Whilst the symptoms and conditions above are consistent with poor circulation, the Revitive
Circulation Boosters have been clinically proven to address aching and painful legs and improve
circulation in healthy individuals and certain medical conditions, (diabetes, osteoarthritis, following
surgery, COPD). Individuals presenting with additional symptoms or underlying conditions should
seek the advice of a healthcare professional if they have any concerns regarding the use of the
REVITIVE device or its ability to help in their particular circumstances.
