Direct frequency input for a known
radio station
lf the transmitting frequency of a station
is known
(from
pro-
gram guides
or regional station directories), the
frequency can
be entered directly
via the keyboard
[32].

Prepare tuner as described

the tuner
to accept
key-
board entries.

Enter frequency, e.g.

After
the last
digit
has
been entered,
the tuner
receives
the
corresponding
station.
Frequencies of the

25
kHz
pattern
can
also be en-
tered; e.g. for

implied decimal
point),
the tuner automatically
complements the entry
to the re-
quired
channel
pattern
frequency
of

MHz.
Keying errors
can be corrected as
follows:

The complete
entry
is cancelled
and a new
frequency can
be
entered.
lf an X appears
in
the
display
window
after
a key
has been
pressed,
this signifies
that an
invalid frequency
has been en-
tered
(e.9.
the
first
digitwas

which invalidates
the entry be-
cause
the
FM band starts at
87.5
MHz).
The microprocessor verifies each entry.
