VLAN
A Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) is a
logical network segment within a switch
or within a complete physical network. It
can extend over one or more switches. A
VLAN separates physical networks into
network segmentss by ensuring that
VLAN-capable switches do not forward
the frames (data packets) from one
VLAN to another VLAN, even though the
network segments may be connected to
a common switch.
