HEAD
(1)
Assemble the intake valve and exhaust
valve to the cylinder head.
a) Remove carbon deposits from valves,
valve seats, intake and exhaust
ports,
and valve guides.
b)
If
the valve face
is
worn out, replace
it
with
a
new one.
c) Check the stem seal in the intake valve
guide for
a
damage.
If the rip of the stem seal is injured,
replace
it
with a new one.
d) Insert the intake valve and the exhaust
valve into the valve guide.
e)
Assemble the valve springs, spring
retainers and the retainer locks.

Check the clearance between the piston
top and the. cylinder top.
(See Fig.
56.)
Select the proper SPACER (head)
so
as the clearance to be within
0.6-0.7
mm.
SPACER (head) of two different
thickness

mm and
0.7
mm)
are
available. (See Fig.
56.)
(3)
Put the cylinder head on the cylinder.
(4)
Apply
sealant (THREE
BOND
1215) to
the two studs on the rocker shaft side.
Apply oil to the other two studs.
(See
Fig.
57.)
(5)
Tighten the four flange nuts evenly
in three steps by the following
tightening torque.

(2)
Apply oil to the rocker arms and install them to the cylinder head using the rocker
shaft. Attach the snap rings to the both ends of the rocker shaft.
