When there is no spark, the following must be checked.
1)
Disconnected cable leading to ignition coil, spark plug or contact breaker.
2)
Broken ignition coil winding, causing short circuit.
3)
Wet
or
oil soaked spark. plug cable.
4)
Dirty
or
wet
spark plug.
5)
Incorrect spark plug electrode gap.
6)
Short connection
of
spark plug.electrodes.
7)
.Pitted
or
fused
breaker points.
8)
Sticking breaker
arm.
9)
Leaking
or
grounded condenser.

Incorrect ignition timing.

1)
Incorrect spark plug electrode gap.

Worn and leaking ignition cable.
3)
Weak spark.
4)
Loose connections
in
ignition wire.
5)
Pitted
or
worn breaker points.
6)
Gasoline containing water.
7)
Poor compression.

STOPS
1)
Fuel tank empty. Gasoline contaminated
with
water, dirt
or
gum.
2)
Gasoline vaporized
in
fuel lines due to excessive heating around engine. (Vapor lock)

Vapor lock in
fuel
lines or carburetor due to the use of too volatile winter
gas
in the hot

Air vent hole in fuel tank cap plugged.

Seizure in rotating
or

engine due to lack
