The Rockville CC525T, CC65T, and CC80T are a series of 70-volt in-ceiling home theater speakers designed for both commercial and residential applications. These speakers are engineered to deliver high-quality audio for music, PA announcements, and chimes, with the added benefit of 70-volt technology for extended wire runs without signal loss and flexible power distribution.

These speakers are primarily designed to provide clear, rich, and deep sound reproduction across a wide frequency range. They are 2-way speakers, meaning they feature a dedicated woofer for lows and mids, and a dedicated tweeter for highs. 70-Volt Taps: Each speaker has a selector knob on the rear to set the wattage (2.5w, 5w, 10w, 15w, or 20w) the speaker will draw from the amplifier. This allows for precise control over the volume of individual speakers in a multi-speaker setup. For example, in a restaurant, dining room speakers can be set to 5 watts, while hallway speakers are set to 2.5 watts.
Flexible Wiring: 70-volt systems allow for very long speaker wire runs without significant signal loss. All positive speaker terminals connect to the positive 70-volt terminal of the amplifier, and negative terminals connect to the COM (negative) terminals of the amp. Impedance matching is not a concern with 70-volt systems; the primary consideration is that the total wattage of all connected speakers does not exceed the amplifier's output power. It is recommended to select an amplifier with 15% to 20% greater power than the total speaker wattage.
Installation: Installation involves cutting an opening in the drywall using the included template. The grille is removable to facilitate wiring and mounting. The speaker is secured by four Phillips head screws, which activate locking tabs that swivel into place against the drywall. Adhesive strips are provided to further secure the grille.
Mixed Systems: The 70-volt technology allows for mixing and matching different types of 70-volt speakers (in-ceiling, wall-mounted, subwoofers) within the same system.
8-Ohm Operation: While primarily designed for 70-volt systems, these speakers can also be wired for standard 8-ohm operation, offering versatility for different audio setups.
