Use I/O Modules with CompactLogix 5370 L1 Controllers Chapter 7
Distributed I/O Modules over an EtherNet/IP Network
You can include distributed I/O modules over an EtherNet/IP network in your
CompactLogix 5370 L1 control system.
Consider the following when using distributed I/O modules over an
EtherNet/IP network:
Each remote EtherNet/IP adapter included in the system must be
counted toward the maximum number of EtherNet/IP nodes of the
controller.
For more information on maximum number of EtherNet/IP nodes, see
Nodes on an EtherNet/IP Network on page 123
.
The configurable RPI settings vary depending on which distributed I/O
modules are used in the system.
To add distributed I/O modules to your CompactLogix 5370 L1
control system, see Configure Distributed I/O Modules on an
EtherNet/IP Network on page 174.
The following graphic shows a CompactLogix 5370 L1 control system that
uses all three I/O module options.
