5 Instrument Tour
5.1 Front Panel Tour
The front panel of the R&S SMB consists of the VGA display, some utility keys (left
side) and the hardkey area with connectors and control interfaces (right side). The sub-
sequent sections provide brief explanations on the controls and connectors, the hard-
key area and the front panel.
For more detailed information, refer to the corresponding description in the Operating
Manual.

5.1.1 Utility Keys
The keys to the left of the display cause the R&S SMB to return to a definite instrument
state and provide information on the instrument and assistance.
For more information refer to chapter "Instrument Settings" in the Operating Manual.
[PRESET]
Sets the instrument to a defined state (see Chapter 4.13, "Default Settings",
on page 23).
[LOCAL]
Switches from remote control to local (manual) control.
