1. Press the [DRUM KIT], [INST], [LEVEL/PAN], and [TEMPO] buttons; 
the [TOM1] LED flashes.
2. Press the [DRUM KIT] button.

Confirm that a sine wave is output from and both the left and right 
channels of OUTPUT and PHONES, then adjust the VOLUME control 
and confirm that the volume level changes.
3. Press the [INST] button.

Confirm that a sine wave is output from the left channel of OUTPUT and 
PHONES.
4. Press the [LEVEL/PAN] button.

Confirm that a sine wave is output from the right channel of OUTPUT 
and PHONES.
5. Press the [TEMPO] button.

Confirm that no sound is being output.
6. Under the conditions in Step 5, connect an oscillator or audio device to 
the MIX IN input.
Confirm that the input from the oscillator is output from OUTPUT and 
PHONES, then adjust the VOLUME control and confirm that the volume 
level changes.
7. After confirming Steps 1 through 6, press the [EDIT] button to advance to 
the next test.
9. Factory Reset

1. Press the [EDIT] button.
Factory Reset begins.
2. When all tests in Step 1 through 9 are finished, all of the LEDs light up 
and “byE” appears in the seven-segment LEDs; turn off the power to quit 
Test mode.
If any test has resulted in “NG” (fail) or if any test was not performed, the 
TRIGGER LEDs for the corresponding tests go off.

FACTORY RESET
This restores the TD-3 to the original factory settings.
Power must be OFF before starting this process.
This will erase all changes made to the TD-3’s settings.
To save this data, use the  “Bulk Dump” operation to save to an external MIDI 
device.
1. While holding down [+] and [-], turn on the power.
The following information is indicated in the display, and [DRUM KIT] 
flashes rapidly.

* To cancel the Factory Reset, turn off the power.
2. Press [+] or [-] to select the settings to be restored (“rSt”).
3. Hold down [DRUM KIT] to execute Factory Reset.
Do NOT turn off the power during the Factory Reset Process.
This could damage the TD-3’s internal memory.
