Booster heater
In ROTEX heat pump systems, the electric immersion heater is
designated a booster heater.
Tab. 3 -3 Booster Heater - Overview and technical data
3.3.2 Non return valves
To prevent heat losses through the connection lines when the
heat pump is turned off and during periods without drinking water
flowing (gravitational circulation), circulation brakes (set of two,
16 50 70) should be built into the connections to the ROTEX
High-efficiency hot water storage tank.
3.3.3 Dirt filter
If the ROTEX High-efficiency hot water storage tank is connected
to a heating system with steel pipes, radiators or non-diffusion-
proof floor heating pipes, slurry and swarf could enter the hot
water storage tank and cause blockages, local overheating or
corrosion. This can be prevented by fitting a dirt filter or sludge
trap (see ROTEX price list).
3.3.4 Scalding protection
There is a danger of scalding at hot water temperatures over
60 °C. Fitting scalding protection enables the hot water temper-
ature to be varied continuously and limited from 35 - 60 °C.
– Scalding protection VTA32 ( 15 60 15)
– Screw connection kit 1" ( 15 60 16)
3.3.5 Solar storage tank extension kit
The following components are offered for the interconnection of
several ROTEX High-efficiency hot water storage tank to the
solar system:
– Solar storage tank extension kit CON SX ( 16 01 20)
– Solar storage tank extension kit CCON SXE ( 16 01 21)
