How to improve RF range of RTS TR-1800 Intercom System beltpacks?
    • J
      Jacob RichardsAug 14, 2025
To improve the RF coverage of your RTS Intercom System beltpacks, ensure both antennas are tightly connected to the access point. Position the access point so the antennas are away from metal obstructions and have a clear view of the coverage area. The normal polarization of the beltpack and the access point antennas is vertical. Keep the area around the lower half of the beltpack clear of metal tape, as the antennas are located there.

Why can't I download firmware to my RTS TR-1800 access point?
    • K
      Kari RayAug 17, 2025
If you're unable to download firmware to the access point, ensure that the computer with the Firmware Update Tool (FWUT) is on the same network as the access points. If your RTS Intercom System uses DHCP addressing, configure the computer for DHCP as well. Alternatively, if your system uses a static IP address, assign the computer an IP address within the Matrix’s network. Also, verify the Ethernet cable is connected to the access point; a blinking yellow LED should be visible on the AP’s RJ-45 port, and a green light should be near the power jack.

What to do if no DECT connection is displayed on RTS TR-1800 beltpack?
    • P
      Paul FergusonAug 21, 2025
If your RTS Intercom System beltpack shows no DECT connection, first check that all access points are powered on and have a green light. Make sure the beltpack is within range of an access point. Ensure the beltpack is subscribed to the system and has a Home access point, with its BP ID entered into one of the access point's channels and has an assigned path (OMNEO channel) to the Matrix. Verify the beltpack's zone setup matches the access point's zone. Also, ensure the audio CODEC of the beltpack matches the CODEC of the access point.

Why is my RTS Intercom System beltpack having audio dropouts?
    • A
      Ashley WaltonAug 26, 2025
If your RTS Intercom System beltpack is experiencing audio dropouts, it could be due to a weak RF connection. Try moving the access points or adding more to improve coverage. The DECT environment might be saturated; try powering down extra DECT devices. If using G.722, an access point supports up to five beltpacks; G.726 supports up to 10. Check for adequate access point overlap for error-free hand-offs and consider Ethernet traffic on a shared network.

How to find RTS Intercom System access points with IPedit?
    • K
      Kelly PerezAug 27, 2025
If you're unable to find the access points with IPedit, it might be because your computer's IP address isn't in the access point's network. Configure your system to use a DHCP server, or if using static addressing, configure your computer with an IP address within the system’s network. Also, ensure the access point has been added to the device catalog in IPedit, is powered on (green Power indicator), and the Ethernet connection is working (blinking LED next to the RJ-45 port).

Why is there no audio from my RTS Intercom System beltpack?
    • T
      Tara BurgessAug 31, 2025
If your RTS Intercom System beltpack has no audio, first check the DECT and Matrix connections. Ensure the correct headset is selected in the beltpack audio setup menu (either 5-pin XLR or 3.5mm stereo plug). If using a 3.5mm headset, ensure it has an Electret microphone. Also, check that the microphone audio gain isn't set too low in the Mic. Setup menu; the default is 30%.

What to do if there are no lights or display shown on RTS Intercom System beltpack?
    • C
      chadmartinezSep 3, 2025
If you see no lights or display on your RTS Intercom System beltpack, check if Dark Mode is active. If so, disable it. Otherwise, adjust the brightness levels for the Talk/Listen buttons, front display, and top display in the beltpack menu. Even at 0%, the front display backlight is still slightly visible in low light.

Why can't I download the firmware update to my RTS TR-1800 beltpack?
    • W
      wernerheatherSep 7, 2025
If you cannot download the firmware update to your RTS Intercom System beltpack, make sure the USB stick is formatted for FAT32. The files to download must be in the root directory of the USB flash drive, not in any folders. Ensure the file has the correct file extension (.bin for Applications, .kpf for Unicode Fonts, .pnm for Splash Image, .dct for DECT). If the USB flash drive is damaged or corrupted, replace it.

What to do if no matrix connection on RTS Intercom System beltpack?
    • T
      Terry BrowningSep 10, 2025
If there is no matrix connection on your RTS Intercom System beltpack, ensure the matrix is on and fully booted, which may take several minutes. Verify the Ethernet connection from the access point to the matrix is active. If the RF DECT link is down, the Matrix connection will also be down.
