      If your Ryobi Trimmer engine does not reach full speed and emits excessive smoke, check the lubricant fuel mixture. Use fresh fuel and the correct 2-stroke lubricant mix. Also, the air filter screen might be dirty, so clean it. For a dirty spark arrester screen, contact a servicing dealer.

      If your Ryobi Trimmer engine won't start, there could be several reasons. It might be due to no spark. Try cleaning or replacing the spark plug and resetting the spark plug gap. Another reason could be no fuel. Push the primer bulb until it's full of fuel. If it doesn't fill, the primary fuel delivery system might be blocked, and you should contact a servicing dealer. Alternatively, the engine could be flooded. Remove the spark plug, turn the trimmer to aim the spark plug hole at the ground, adjust the choke lever to the 'RUN' position, and pull the starter cord 10-15 times to clear excess fuel. Clean and reinstall the spark plug. Clean up any spilled fuel and move at least 9m away before restarting. Pull the starter cord 3 times with the choke lever at the 'RUN' position.
