2 Check the wheel speed signal
- Jack up a front wheel and put the gearlever in
position N.
- Unplug the control module's 70-pinconnector.
- Ignition switch in ON position.
- Connect the test lamp to pins 39 and 1 of the fe-
male connector.
- Rotate the wheel.
Does the test lamp flash?
I YESI ·
Continue with point 3.

Check the lead between pin 2 of the speedo-
meter and pin 39 of the Trionic control modu-
le for continuity and shorting. If necessary,
repair or replace the lead.
If the lead is
OK,
continue
fault diagnosis as
described in Service Manual 3:2 "Electrical
system".
