2. Place
centering
unit
in
posi-
tion
and
tighten
he
xagon
head
screw
by
hand.
3. Remove
faulty
armatures
and
replac
e
by
new
ones.
4.
Pl
ace
centering
ring
in
posi-
tion,
press new
ly
fitted
arma-
ture
against
this
ring
and
tigh
-
ten
bo
th screws.
After
removal
of
the
ce
ntering
r
ing
the
gap
between
armature
core
and
magneto
flywheel
wi
ll
be
of
the
c
orrect
wi
dth
.
Note:
F&
S lf22•25
The F & S
centering
tool
w
ill
not
be
supplied
any
more
when
the
prese
nt
stock
is
exhausted.

New
ignition
or

to
be
fitted
according
to
the
insta
llation
instr

ctions
wh
ich
are
attached
to
BOSCH
spare
parts.
In
order
to
obtain
the
maximum
ignitio
n
and
lighting
power
it
is
recommended
to
ma
i
ntain
the
gap
of
0.25
...
0.35 mm (0.0098
...
0.0138 in.)
between
the
armature
poles
and
the
f l
ywhee
l
under
any
ci rcumstances.
Replacing the contact
breaker
The
contact
breaker
s
hould
be
changed
when
th
e contacts, the sli
der
or
the
pivot
pin
are
badly
worn;
also
when
the
beari
ng bush is
worn
or
if
the
contact
arm
or
the
spring
is
damaged.
l.
Un
screw
cutout
l
ead,
and,
if
fitted,
noting
correct
sequence
of
insula
ting
washers
for
connector
angle
bracke
t in
contact
carrier.
2.
Remove
retainer
and
contact
arm
from
pivot
pin
(take
care
of
shimming
washers).
3.
Un
screw
fillister
head
screw
and
remove
c
ontact
carrier.
4.
Un
screw
pivot
pin
f
rom
armat
ure
base
plate
.
N
ew
par
ts should
be
fitted
in
reverse
order,
proceeding
as
follows:
Caulk
the
pivot
pin
aft
er
screwi
ng in.
U
se
o
nly
the
contact
br
e
ak
er
assembly spec
ifi
ed
for
this
engine.
Wh
en
fitted
in
positio
n,
the
contacts
on the
contact
arm
must n
ot
be
disp
la
ced
or
tilted.
Apply
BOSC
H Ft l v 8
grease
to
bearing
before
fitt
in
g.
Smear
BOSCH Ft l v 4
grease
on the
felt
lubricating
pad
and
greaser
wedge
in
the
s
lider.
(BOSCH
grease
is
obtainable
in
tubes
from
all
BOSCH
suppliers.
)
Do
not
allow
any
grease
or
oil
to
reach the co ntacts.
Replacing the condenser
1.
Un
so
lder
both
leads
.
2. Push
the
defectiv
e
condenser
out
of
th
e
armature
base p
lat
e w ith a
wooden
dowel.
3.
Remove
the
sea
lin
g c
aulk
from
the
hol
e
wi
th a
triangu
l
ar
scraper
.
4. In
sert
new
cond
enser
and
carefully
caulk
again
.
5.
Solder
both
cab
l
es
to
their
term
in
als.
